Yesterday morning Domenico Guidotti, owner of the homonymous company, welcomed his Destriero, one of the most powerful nautical vessels in the entire Adriatic, in the San Giorgio port. The boat made a technical stop in the port of San Giorgio, bound for Termoli, in Molise, where the owner's headquarters are located. Francesco Guidotti is referring to the vessel that until last year was at home in Porto San Giorgio, and which then, due to technical problems, had to leave and go to Civitanova. On the quay, while the boat was mooring, the crew was welcomed by the mayor Nicola Loira, the commander of the harbor master's office, Ciro Petrunelli, and the technical manager of the port structure, Basilio Ciaffardoni.

The Destriero II whose operations take place with the coordination of the Coast Guard, can reach up to 100 miles from the coast, and is equipped with advanced technologies. It can work as a transport platform, it can be used for various maritime operations, it can do dredging. Many functions are performed thanks to robotics, but the specialized crew is indispensable for every operation. The ship's commander himself, Cristiano Listorto, has operational roles and is not limited to directing the work.

The vehicle can carry out various operations at sea, because it tolerates low speeds, and can also intervene in the recovery of people in difficulty, since it can also reach very high speeds. This is a strong point of the vessel, whose sanitary equipment is worthy of any cruising vessel. On board, in fact, the first aid kit contains medicines for 4500 euros, and the life jackets are of the latest generation, they swell in contact with water. And if there are shipwrecked people on board, they are transported in the best possible conditions: the 25 seats provided are padded. All in the broadest guarantee of quality, whose procedures are managed directly by the nautical staff and by the offices, entrusting external bodies only with verifying that everything takes place according to international regulations. The prospect, not too distant, is that Guidotti's vehicles will return to station in the San Giorgio port. Maybe just the Steed. We hope that our port will return to its former glory, Basilio Ciaffardoni closes thirty years after its construction, the structure has not been affected by time and is still one of the safest.
